Carlene
Carlene is our very first Nurse Practitioner at The Waratah Centre. She has extensive knowledge in mental health and its interplay with neurodivergence, rural practice and a broad understanding of physical health concerns.
Carlene has worked in our rural community for many years as both a nurse and a credentialed Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health), and at The Waratah Centre she will predominantly work with our adult population.
Carlene's role focuses on providing thoughtful, therapeutic support tailored to you.
Carlene offers psychotherapy, structured problem-solving, medication discussions (including exploring options), diagnostic clarification when helpful, and holistic wellness guidance. Carlene promotes coping strategies and relapse prevention, as well as empowering her clients by supporting their deep understanding of mental illness.
Carlene can assist with referrals to tele-psychiatry (self-funded), social work, and other appropriate services, as well as provide Centerlink and medical certificates, and support with other client-centred documentation.
With her extensive knowledge of mental health and utilising a neurodiversity-affirming approach, Carlene's aim is to ensure you feel supported, heard, and clear about your options.
