Hayley is a registered Psychologist, Board Approved Supervisor (Psychology), and qualified Secondary Teacher. With over twenty years of experience working within schools and psychology practice, Hayley offers a unique perspective on learning, wellbeing and what it takes to support young people.
Hayley opened The Waratah Centre in 2020. The Waratah Centre started as a personalised healthcare setting for children and their families - and has now grown to support people of all ages and needs.
As an openly Neurodivergent Psychologist, Hayley's professional interests include the intersectionality of Autism, ADHD, anxiety and educational inclusion for learning. Hayley offers assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health conditions, counselling and individualised support plans. Hayley is also a skilled practitioner in co-regulation, EMDR, client-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. She uses a 'trauma and sensory-informed' approach.
Hayley is incredibly client-led, often honing in on the interests of her clients and utilising these as springboards for therapeutic work. There's a very serious side to the play spaces Hayley can create - but the children rarely notice... instead families often report lots of chitter chatting and laughter. Hayley enjoys working in a way that leads clients into a self-reflective curiosity, creating unique sessions that honour a client's own flow, processing speed and interests.
Hayley works with clients from four years through to adults and offers practical skills and support sessions for parents of neurodivergent children.
Hayley has also begun working in the trauma-recovery space, offering EMDR as a part of her therapeutic approach.
Hayley is available to schools for consultation with inclusive classroom planning, individual support plans for students, and coaching staff on inclusive practice.
As the founder of The Waratah Centre, Hayley is excited to bring her nurturing, evidence-based practice to life.
